/ GOODNER Camp #1513 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans is a
non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the memory and heritage of the Confederacy
and our Confederate ancestors through memorial, historical, and educational activities. Based in Smithville, Tennessee, the SAVAGE / GOODNER Camp has been active and has completed several projects, including the placement of military markers on the graves of Confederate soldiers, a historical roadside marker for the Battle of Snow hill, the donation of several books and microfilm records to local libraries, and a Confederate monument at the Dekalb County Courthouse and a monument to Gen. John Hunt Morgan in Alexandria TN. We have also published a book on the history of DeKalb County along with designing the DeKalb County flag, which is based on the Confederate First National flag. . . The SAVAGE / GOODNER Camp meets at the Justin Potter Library across from the main Post Office in Smithville, Tennessee, at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of every month. . . The Sons of Confederate Veterans (S.C.V.) is an organization of male descendants of the men who fought for the Confederacy.
