2 c. corn meal
1 egg
3 T. sugar
½ c. self-rising flour
1 onion, chopped
1 c. buttermilk
Dissolve sugar into buttermilk. Blend all ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil in deep fryer. Hush puppies will be golden brown and float when done.
