Boiled Custard

1 gallon milk
4 c. sugar
8 eggs
2 t. vanilla

Scald milk in double boiler. Beat eggs and sugar together. Pour into milk while stirring regularly. Cook until custard thickens slightly. Remove from heat and strain. Add vanilla.
